How did you discover collage?
During a workshop with the inspiring Jaber Lutfi. I realized I can paint and prepare my own papers and play with those. It just goes to show you that I never did it in kindergarten.
What did you like about the collage medium?
The entire process. I see it as creation followed by destruction followed by creation again. You rediscover yourself every time and I am fascinated by this – this relentless reconstruction of self and paper and this is the perfect medium to do it in. It is at once fragile yet very resilient.
How would you describe your style?
I am an expressionist. And I see myself as an outsider: a salon outsider. Not quite on the margins of society, but I feel like I am.

My personal history.
Where do you find you collage material? What are your favorite magazines?
I only use my own original prints and paintings.
Any advice for a newcomer collagist?
Same thing I tell myself every day: stop whining and go back to work.
